As Google continues to grow, so do our physical office spaces all over the globe. As a Marketing Communications Manager in the Real Estate and Workplace Services (REWS) team, you’ll be responsible for keeping Googlers informed, engaged and inspired about our innovative spaces & services that enable employees to perform at their best and for the company to thrive. Leading coordination with cross-functional teams in PR, Internal/Exec Communications, Policy/Community Affairs and HR, you’ll deftly tackle a variety of communications needs that support Google’s business goals.

You’ll be partnering with global thought leaders and client-facing business partners to communicate REWS’ intent and goals to our organization’s team members, third-party vendors, Google executives, Googlers, and neighboring communities. You’ll demonstrate excellent creative judgment and communication skills to translate leadership vision into consistent, intentional messages that REWS employees at all levels can use to tell our story.

Things move quickly at Google, so you’ll constantly have new challenges, requiring you to juggle multiple projects and various deadlines. This is a highly collaborative role that requires someone who can work well with teammates and internal clients alike, takes feedback with grace and incorporates it quickly, and is willing to pitch in on projects outside of their core role to help advance the organization’s goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Translate leadership vision into a value proposition, consistent messages, and expressions of intent that REWS employees at all levels can use. Incorporate these messages into onboarding materials, communication resources, and client engagement best practices.

-Be a master storyteller who can synthesize complex issues and craft a series of concise, compelling communications about our REWS philosophy, programs, and services to a variety of audiences globally (via emails, presentations, talking points, print collateral, websites).

-Project manage internal communications strategic plans and initiatives, from beginning to end. Develop creative strategies for communicating to employees: plan the frequency of and vehicles for communications and coordinate across different areas of the business and the company.

-Create scalable communication strategies, processes, and tools to help REWS engage their clients & end users at all levels, so that our services create a seamless experience that consistently conveys REWS’ values and intent.

-Own implementation of communications and marketing strategy programs & projects, including equipping the organization with the tools, resources, and capabilities to deploy consistent values and intent-based messaging.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

-Six years of professional experience in marketing, communications, strategy or related field (e.g. in corporate, journalism, government, political, or nonprofit settings)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

-Experience working in a rapidly changing environment with the ability to work calmly and maintain good judgment in high-stress environments, as well as the flexibility to thrive in ambiguity.

-Demonstrated experience in planning, writing, and producing communications plans and materials; outstanding writing and editing skills that capture Google’s voice and cultural values.

-Ability to present ideas and recommendations effectively to a variety of audiences, from peers to senior executives.

-Ability to think, plan, and execute on multiple projects simultaneously in an organized fashion, while acting as an effective team player who can lead efforts across disciplines.

-Extraordinary judgment, with the ability to balance the long-term and urgent communications needs of a team.

-Experience activating projects, programs, and/or marketing and brand strategies in a diverse global landscape.
