The Public Information Representative II in Communications will perform a wide range of functions as well as directly engage with capital project stakeholders, along with other internal and external customers. This position is responsible for supporting public information, public relations and marketing/outreach activities. Specifically, the PIR II will routinely implement community engagement efforts and oversee the day-to-day public outreach activities and operations regarding capital projects and or communications efforts. This position is part of a team of communication professionals, responsible for a range of complex and specialized public information and engagement programs and interfaces extensively with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•       Strategic and customized outreach and communication planning with communities, partner agencies/businesses and stakeholder groups on complex and controversial topics.
•       Coordination with internal partners and peers on community outreach, public participation, stakeholder engagement and collaboration.
•       Event coordination and planning.
•       Coordinating and connecting project outreach and community relations goals to the broader goals of the organization.

Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in communications, journalism, graphic design, public relations, education, or a related field.

Three (3) years of experience in public relations, graphic design, education and/or volunteer outreach, public administration, community relations, or outreach activities.
Directly related experience may be substituted for the college requirement on the basis of one and one-half years of experience for one year of education to a maximum of four years.
