Biz Carson is a San Francisco-based reporter at Protocol, covering Silicon Valley with a focus on startups and venture capital. Previously, she reported for Forbes and was co-editor of Forbes Next Billion-Dollar Startups list. Sara Bloomberg (she/her) covers innovation, tech, startups and entrepreneurship across the Bay Area. She has lived in San Francisco since 2009, worked for Japan’s Asahi Shimbun daily newspaper as an English language research assistant, and has previously written and photographed stories for the San Francisco Public Press, 48 Hills, KQED, the SF Bay Guardian and SF Weekly. Scott Budman is an Emmy Award-winning reporter who reports on business and technology for NBC Bay Area during evening newscasts. Born and raised in Oakland, Scott has been with NBC Bay Area since 1995. He began his broadcasting career in radio as a business reporter for KMNY radio in Anaheim. He then spent some time as a general assignment reporter and business anchor/producer at the Orange County News Channel. Before joining NBC Bay Area, Scott was a reporter and weekend anchor at KEYT in Santa Barbara. Scott has won many awards including a national Iris Award. You can often hear him on Bay Area radio waves updating listeners on the latest business and tech news on NPR and Alice radio. He is a regular blogger for Forbes and other online publications. Shernaz Daver is the operating partner and CMO of Khosla Ventures. For the prior ten years, she served as executive advisor to GV (Google Ventures). She recently worked with 10x Genomics, which she advised through their IPO resulting in one of the top five performing IPOs for 2019. She also currently serves as an advisor to Kitty Hawk. She has worked with a range of innovative companies including Netflix, Walmart, Motorola, Baidu, Khan Academy, Zynga, Electronic Arts, Groupon, Kosmix, Savvis (Century Link), Polyvore (Yahoo), Voyage (Cruise) and Guardant Health. Shernaz was previously CMO of Udacity and Inktomi, and started her career at Sun Microsystems. She is a frequent speaker at events including the Milken conference, StartupGrind and the women’s PBWC conference.
