Event to bring together press and comms pros, in-person for first time in three years
Palo Alto, Calif., Nov. 17, 2022 – The Silicon Valley Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America today announced that its 15th annual Media Predicts gala on December 6, 2022 at the San Mateo Marriott will include an all-star lineup of speakers and sponsors.
Media Predicts is the chapter’s annual communications industry event that brings together a diverse group of communications professionals, business leaders, and journalists from the Bay Area and beyond.
“The media industry has reached an inflection point as we continue to battle a cycle of disinformation and division. Traditional media has a pivotal role to play in restoring public trust, as a vital source for reliable, fact-based information in an increasingly divided world,” said Jordan Rittenberry, General Manager, Edelman Bay Area Hub. “We’re incredibly proud to partner with PRSA Silicon Valley on its annual ‘Media Predicts’ event, exploring how businesses and communicators can more authentically and creatively reach and inform their stakeholders, to restore trust and positively impact our communities in Silicon Valley and beyond.”
“The Silicon Valley PRSA chapter has built a ‘franchise’ around the ‘Media Predicts’ dinner with many of the biggest names in tech journalism gracing the stage – crystal ball in hand – over the years. We’re super enthused to be a sponsor and support the event,” said Lou Hoffman of the Hoffman Agency.
“For more than fifteen years, Media Predicts has brought together the brightest communicators and top journalists in the area,” said Erin McCabe, executive vice president at Hotwire. “PRSA Silicon Valley has done so much to keep us connected and support our increasingly diverse community that we are proud to invest as a sponsor.”
“As communications professionals, we’ve all had to stretch our creative muscles these past few years to nurture relationships and spark conversations solely through digital mediums,” said Meghan Fintland, PRSA Silicon Valley president-elect and senior director, external communications, Zelle and Early Warning. “It’s been a long time since we’ve been able to gather together in person. Now we are armed with fresh insights and new ideas as we walk into 2023, and who better to celebrate with than a supportive community of passionate communications professionals?”
This year’s panel includes reporters covering the forefront of venture capital, innovation, and the economy:
- Martine Paris, U.S. Consumer Reporter at Bloomberg
- Kenrick Cai, Senior Reporter, Technology at Forbes
- Biz Carson, Senior Reporter at Protocol
- Sara Bloomberg, Reporter, Startups and Innovation at SF Business Times
The panel will be moderated by Shernaz Daver, Operating Partner and CMO of Khosla Ventures.
With both agency and in-house sponsors supporting the event, Media Predicts will be the must-attend gathering for those wanting to network and connect with communications leaders, new professionals, members of the press, and students alike.
The event is returning to the San Mateo Marriott on December 6th, where attendees will hear from a panel of high-profile journalists at Bloomberg, Forbes, Protocol, and the San Francisco Business Times, as they reflect on the trends they’ve seen in 2022 and share their insightful predictions for the new year.

- 6:00 p.m. – Networking
- 6:45 p.m. – Dinner
- 7:30 p.m. – Panel
